fanfic100 for prompt #85 (she). Set during the second half of BTVS Season Three.
Giles would always wonder what he could have done differently and how he could have prevented Faith’s deflection to the Mayor. He would always feel that he had failed the brunette by being too focused on Buffy. When Faith had first arrived in Sunnydale, Giles had immediately recognized that the brunette was a lost little girl. But he had refused to do anything to help her because Buffy had needed him, and now Faith was more damaged than before and she was slowly turning into a monster. The lust in her eyes as she held the knife to Willow’s throat was evident and he despised himself for his role in transforming her into the killer she had become. If only he had focused a bit more on her instead of letting Buffy’s jealousy for Faith control his actions.
