            The minutes that Faith was able to hold Willow in her arms seemed to pass like hours to the both of them, just for very different reasons. Willow, of course, was in terror of what the brunette would do to her, and she was terrified that if she moved the wrong way that Faith’s sharp knife would end up in her throat. On the other hand, Faith loved every moment that she was able to hold Willow’s body close to her. It allowed her to pretend that she was holding the redhead for very different reasons. That she wasn’t threatening Willow’s life because the Mayor could use Willow to gain what he wanted from Buffy. She could pretend that when Willow shivered in fear, that it was only a shiver of desire from being so close to one another. As the minutes dragged on for both Willow and Faith, they seemed to stretch out into hours of terror and pretend, neither knowing when they would be saved.
