            When she had gone to the Mayor, Faith had known exactly what she was doing. And she knew that what she was doing was wrong, but she had found herself facing a dead end that she would be unable to escape from. The accidental death of the deputy mayor had put her in a position that she had no escape from. Either she was going to be punished for her crime by the Council or she was going to be killed by the Mayor’s henchmen, neither of which were exactly options that she wanted to choose from. So she’d done the only thing that she could, she’d gone to the Mayor and turned her back on Buffy and the Council. After all, when it came down to it, when had either Buffy or the Council been there for her in the past? It didn’t matter her to that the Mayor was just another dead end; at least he seemed to actually care about her.
