“Hold up Willow,” Faith called out to the redhead.
Willow turned around and looked at the brunette Slayer as she made her way down the hall towards her. She was tempted to continue on to the library but she had a feeling that whatever Faith wanted to tell her was something that Willow didn’t want the others to hear. So she waited.
“Heya Willow,” Faith said with an oily smile when she finally reached the redhead.
“Faith,” Willow responded without enthusiasm.
“What’s new with you?”
”Is there something you need? I am kind of in a hurry, Giles needs my help.”
”Giles can wait a minute,” Faith said as she casually leaned against the wall, her obvious delight with Willow’s discomfort written on her face.
“What do you want, Faith?” Willow curtly asked.
“I wanna talk to you about B.”
”What?”
”You don’t need to get bitchy. Its just that you need to understand something,” Faith said, as she pulled the other girl closer to her.
“And what’s that?” Willow asked as she pulled her arm out of the Slayer’s hand.
“It’s not that B doesn’t appreciate you, I mean you’re great with the research and the homework and all that, but you need to know that B worries about you. When she takes you on patrol, you’re in the way.”
”What are you trying to say?”
”Well it’s like this Willow; B doesn’t want you to patrol with her anymore. You’re a liability.”
”Really?” Willow asked coldly, not sure what she should believe.
“Yeah. See she doesn’t wanna hurt your feelings. It’s easier when we patrol together cuz I am Slayer and all that. I understand her in ways that you can’t even begin to understand her.”
”Fine, I understand and now you’ll have to excuse me, I promised Giles I’d help him. Unless I am too much of a liability to help with research.”
”Nah, you and Giles should stick together, like me and B should. Know what I mean?”
Willow nodded before she turned away from the brunette feeling as if a knife had been stabbed in her back. She didn’t know what to believe and if she hadn’t promised to help Giles, she probably would have gone home. What Faith said had made sense in light of Buffy’s recent behaviour. But a tiny voice in the back of her head kept saying how jealous Faith seemed of her closeness with Buffy. Willow decided to think about it later, when she had the time do so. As she walked into the library, she missed Faith’s triumphant smirk.

Date: 2005-10-27 12:12 pm (UTC)Aw thanks... I read your Spillow because you're always taking the pairing on interesting twists and turns and not the same old tired routes that a lot of Spillow writers were taking the ship.
