Faith’s feelings for Buffy were confusing and complex. The feelings weren’t as
Simple as she allowed the Mayor and the others to believe, instead they were much more complicated. As much as she hated the flawless blonde Slayer, Faith also felt love for Buffy. Not the romantic love of a lover for their lover, but familial love. The two had bonded quickly while they fought to protect the Hellmouth before things had turned tragic with the death of the deputy mayor. During the brief time that they had fought the forces of darkness side by side, they had bonded as soldiers often bond during war. For lack of a better of term, Faith thought of Buffy as her sister in arms. Suddenly everything had fallen apart and Faith had grown to hate the other Slayer and her holier than thou ways. Yet at the same time she found herself going easy on the other Slayer when she confronted her because of the love she still continued to feel for Faith. Every time following a confrontation with Buffy, Faith would often wish that she could use her knife to cut out the love that she still felt.
