She knew that there was no future for them beyond friendship. She knew that he was only there because he wanted to make sure that she was still on the path of redemption. But her heart didn’t care what her brain knew, she had feelings for him and every time he came to visit her in prison she had a hard time seeing him. Part of her wanted to tell him that he didn’t need to visit her and that she didn’t want him to. Yet the other part of her refused to let go of the only contact that she had with him. When he would leave, she’d be escorted back to her cell where she’d climb onto her bunk and daydream about how things could have been different if she had played her cards differently. And about how things would be different in the future when she was released from prison. He might not have any feelings for her now beyond friendship, but who knew what the future held for her and him.
