Notes: Written for joss100  for prompt #2 (nightmares). Set during BTVS Season Four, just before “Who Are You?”

 

            She knew that she was only dreaming, or more accurately that she was having nightmares. She had lost count of the number of times that Buffy had taken the knife from the Mayor and had thrust it into her body. Sometimes Faith would be helping Buffy and then the blonde Slayer would turn on her and thrust the knife into her heart. Other times, Buffy would be the predator and Faith the helpless victim, the roles that they had taken on when she had been awake were no reversed. The worse was when Buffy would continually stab her whole saying that this was what Faith wanted. She would scream and the sound would echo in her head and there would be no respite until her next nightmare started.
