Drabble: First Bite 1/1, PG13, implied Spike/Joyce

This is another one of my old drabble requests. It's written for goddess_loki  for giving me the original suggestion and also for velvetwhip  because she's a great friend. I hope that the both of you really like this one, it was one of the most challenging fics for me to write.

Notes: Written for goddess_loki  who wanted to see the theme of a vampire biting a victim. The pairing is for velvetwhip  for all of the support she’s given me.  Set during BTVS S.2, shortly after “School Hard.”

 

            As Joyce slowly woke up, she felt extreme hunger that was almost as if she hadn’t eaten in several weeks. Her whole existence focused on her intense hunger and her mind went on autopilot as she struggled out of her bed. It seemed to take more time for her, as the blankets seemed to fight her every movement. Finally she had managed to break free from her resting place and she staggered towards a tantalizing scent that seemed to call to her hunger. It was rich and sweet and powerful and it blocked out everything else, including the frightened whisper of “Mommy.” Her sore hands managed to grasp onto the source of the scent and a sleepy part of her mind screamed out in warning while her body acted on instinct. She pulled the source of the tantalizing scent closer to her while she ignored the warning that something was wrong. Her hunger drove her as she lowered her head and she sunk her suddenly sharp teeth into a thin, soft and warm crust before a rich liquid burst onto her tongue and into her mouth. She drank thirstily until she was done. Once she was done, the fog completely lifted from her mind as someone applauded from behind her.
“Well done!”
”Who are you?” Joyce asked calmly as she realized that she held the limp body of her daughter in her arms.
“Your Sire,” Spike replied.
“Ah and what exactly does that mean?” Joyce asked as she dropped Buffy to the ground, unconcerned with what had happened.
“Come here, pet, and I’ll show you,” Spike suggestively said as he held out his hand for her to take. He smirked when she took it, pleased in his rash decision to turn her.

Oh, this was good. I really like it. I especially enjoyed the way you described Joyce biting Buffy (the "warm crust" part). Very good.
