Notes: Written for goddess_loki  who wanted this pairing and the colour green. Set during Season Five.

 

            He never knew if it would be a day when she blew hot or cold towards him. Some days, she would be warm and friendly towards him, causing him to believe that he might have a chance with her. Even if that chance was only friendship, it was still an opening for him to get closer to her. And other days, she would slip into her Ice Queen routine. While she remained professional and efficient, she closed off any avenues of friendship and closeness. Causing Greg to feel a sinking sensation in his stomach as he was forced to endure her longing looks at Grissom. It wasn’t as if he loved her, rather he felt a longing to be friends with her, especially after the graveyard shift was split up. Yet every time he thought that he was close to making a breakthrough with her, she would turn cold towards him. He never thought that he would be jealous of Grissom, but he found that he was every time that she went cold towards him and favoured their boss.
