Title: Fury
Author: Sweetness (aaronlisa@gmail.com)
Pairing: Angel/Fred
Rating: PG-15
Disclaimer: The Buffyverse belongs to Joss Whedon and company.
Notes: Written for lilbreck who wanted this pairing and the colour black. Set during “A Hole in the World.” What if Angel had decided that saving Fred was worth infecting countless others with Illyria?
Warnings: Character death.
“If that’s what it takes, then we’ll do it,” Angel said flatly.
“Have you lost your bloody mind? Hundreds, if not thousands, of innocents will be affected if you try to return Illyria’s sarcophagus,” Spike said as Drogan watched the two vampires in front of him.
“No one’s innocent,” Angel replied as he withdrew a stake from his coat pocket.
Spike’s only reaction to Angel’s action was a slight widening of his eyes in disbelief just as Angel viciously drove the stake through the bleach blonde’s heart. After the dust and ash had settled, Angel calmly dusted himself off before he turned to face Drogan.
“I’ve been wanting to do that for a very long time. Now is there anything, such as a spell or a ritual, that we can do to lessen the risk of infecting these supposed innocents?”
“There might be a spell,” Drogan cautiously replied.
“How about you start enlightening me a little faster, Fred’s in a lot of discomfort right now,” Angel demanded.
“Certainly, I believe that what you need can be found in the Text of Ehecatl.”
“I’ll have someone look into it. And you’d better hope that he finds it quickly or your death won’t be as quick as Spike’s was,” Angel snarled before he turned around and headed outside so that he could contact Wesley.

Author's note: Ehecatl is the Aztec god of wind.
