Drabble: Hidden 1/1, PG-15, Aus/W

Notes: Set during BTVS Season Two, just after “Surprise/Innocence.” Angelus ponders on a possible relationship with Willow.
He landed softly on the balcony and he watched from the shadows as she prepared herself for bed. For some reason, he was fascinated with the Slayer’s little pet hacker. To him, the shy redhead represented everything that Buffy wasn’t: innocent, intelligent and strong. It surprised him that he was just as drawn to the shy redhead just as the soul had been before him. He couldn’t understand why the soul had focused his attentions on the Slayer, when Willow had been there in front of him. He shrugged his shoulders as he focused his attention back on Willow. He could worry about the Slayer and the soul’s motivations at another time.
Angelus wanted to corrupt the sweet innocent that was in front of him. It took every ounce of will power to not burst through the fragile doors that separated them and to take her and claim her as his. But it would take too much time, and he didn’t have time to spare. Not when he wanted to torment and break the Slayer for making him feel human, and for leading him around like a puppy dog. If he could, he would have punished the soul, but since that was physically impossible, he had to focus his malicious attention on the Slayer instead.
However, he promised that when he was done with the filthy Slayer, and then reprimanding his wayward childer, he would turn his attention back to Willow. She would be his greatest accomplishment, for he intended to make her his equal so that she could fill the empty place in his life left by Darla. But first he had to deal with other things, he wanted to focus all of his attention on her and not have to divide it between her, the Slayer and Drusilla and Spike. As she lay down in her bed, Angelus jumped back to the ground and decided what he could do to make Buffy pay even more for wasting his time.
