starlit_desires | FIC: To Fix Broken Things 3/?, PG-13. W/S/X

There's going to be at least another part posted today, but after that I am going to work on a challenge for willowschild since a really cool idea for a A/X piece came to me. Anyhow this is the part that is probably going to make it difficult for me to make it into a smutty piece. I am a little anxious about this chapter. But it's something that I've often thought about when I've read certain pieces of fanfic that have Willow paired with a vampire, and you all know how much I love those pairings. Enjoy!

Notes: Written for velvetwhip who wanted to see this pairing set shortly after Willow returned to Sunnydale from England at the beginning of BTVS Season Seven. For the sake of this story, The First isn’t driving Spike insane.

Spike’s quietness was starting to disturb her. She had never really thought about of Spike, or even of Angel, as corpses until then. He had sat down, said a few snide words to her, and then fallen into a broody silence. What disturbed her was his lack of movement as it finally drove home to her that vampires were nothing more than animated corpses. Their very nature made them deceptive and she had been deceived by their movements into forgetting that they were the undead, and that their bodies were suspended somewhere between life and decay. She shuddered as she thought about Buffy having sex with both Angel and Spike. And she couldn’t stop herself for wondering what type of pervert Buffy was for having sex with two animated corpses, even if they were both sexy. Willow had to wonder if Buffy had issues with living men, since she seemed to only have one long-term relationship with one.
All of a sudden, Spike moved and all her thoughts of him being nothing more than a deceptive animated corpse fled her head. And she was reminded of two things as the beach blond moved to stand. The first was that he was desperately alive, despite what he was. And secondly, she was reminded again of why Buffy had been able to get over thoughts of Spike being nothing more than a corpse and able to find him so desirable. She trembled as the vampire gave her an icy glare.
“Bloody hell!” Spike exclaimed as he started pacing again.
“What?” Willow asked him quietly.
“This,” Spike said as he gestured with both of his hands, including the both of them and the room.
“What about it?”
”Doesn’t this reek of a set up to you?”
”A set up? What are you talking about Spike?” Willow asked confused as to what Spike could possibly mean.
“Oh come on, Red, don’t tell me that you can’t see that this is a pathetic attempt of matchmaking?”
“Why would Xander do something like that?”
“Who knows why Xander Harris does anything that he does. I’m leaving,” Spike said as he started to leave the living room.
