Title: To Fix Broken Things 2/?

Author: Sweetness (aaronlisa@gmail.com)

Pairing: Willow/Spike/Xander (interaction)
Rating: PG-13

Disclaimer: Joss Whedon and company own the Buffyverse and its characters.

Notes: Written for [livejournal.com profile] velvetwhip  who wanted to see this pairing set shortly after Willow returned to Sunnydale from England at the beginning of BTVS Season Seven. For the sake of this story, The First isn’t driving Spike insane.

Spike was pacing furiously in the main room of the mansion. The mansion held too many unpleasant memories for him, especially now that he had a soul. He had been surprised when Xander had approached him the other night, and even more so when he had asked Spike to meet him at the mansion. It had been on the tip of Spike’s tongue to say now. But curiosity had gotten the better of him, and he had said yes. Xander had given him a relieved look before he had gone, leaving Spike with several questions and no answers.
He heard the front door open and then close. The timid footsteps told him that it wasn’t Xander. They were too light to be his and Spike had never heard Xander walk timidly. When Willow entered the room, he was surprised again and wondered what type of game Xander was playing.
“Spike?” Willow asked him hesitantly.
“Yeah that’s me.”
”What are you doing here?”
”I could ask you the same thing, pet.”
“Xander told me to meet him here,” Willow said as she looked around.
“Funny, he told me the same thing,” Spike said as he sat down in the one of the chairs.
“I wonder why.”
”Dunno.”
Spike continued to stare at the red head, who seemed uncomfortable with the situation. He wondered if what Anya had been telling him was the truth. The girl standing in front of him didn’t look comfortable enough in her own skin, much less confident enough to attempt to destroy the world with dark magic. She just didn’t seem to have it in her; instead she looked too timid, too unsure, and too nervous to have attempted something like that. But stranger things had happened, and he could understand the feelings that would have caused her to want to destroy the world when Tara had been shot and killed. Although the blonde witch had always seemed too passive and meek, Spike knew that Willow had loved the girl. And he knew that after Drusilla had left him, he had wanted to go on a rampage of death and destruction, and Dru had still been alive. So he could only imagine the pain that could have caused Willow to go on a similar rampage.

I feel the same way when I have to write anything involving Dru or Faith or Buffy!

Dru's hard for me but no where near as bad as Spike. I find it's hard because he's so conflicted.

I understand. Believe it or not, despite how often I write him, Spike is still a challenge for me as well!

I can beleive that, especially since you're such a good Spike writer.
