One of many drabbles/fics inspired by [livejournal.com profile] spikegrrl1 since she's given me so many challenges!

Title: The Kiss 1/1

Author: Sweetness (aaronlisa@gmail.com)

Pairing: Buffy/Oz
Rating: PG-13

Disclaimer: The Buffyverse belongs to Joss Whedon and company.

Notes: Set BTVS Season Three, just after the events in “Lovers’ Walk.”

Buffy didn’t really know how she had ended up in Oz’s arms, much less who had initiated the kiss. All she knew was that for the first time since she had sent Angel to Hell, she actually felt alive. Oz had gone with her on patrol. He had told her at the library that he had wanted to talk to her and he had suggested joining her on her nightly patrol. Buffy had agreed since she assumed that Oz had wanted to talk to her about Willow and Buffy would do anything to help her friend hook up with Oz again. Yet during her patrol, Oz hadn’t brought up Willow once, instead he had asked her questions about Angel. Buffy had been confused about the direction of their conversation but since she didn’t want to be pushy she had answered his questions. She figured that when he wanted to talk about Willow that he would. However, a vampire had appeared in front of them suddenly and she had fought it. And just as she staked it, she ended up tripping on a tree root. As the vampire exploded into dust, Oz caught her before she could land on her face. And then their arms had wrapped around one another’s bodies. Then their lips had met and she felt a jolt of electricity as she forgot all about Willow and Angel and she responded to his kiss.

I really like this. I don't think I've ever considered Buffy/Oz before.
