Notes: An AU ending for “In My Time of Dying.”
Summary: Dean’s faced death one too many times.
He’s seen death so many times that it shouldn’t surprise him that Death has finally come for him. After all, a hunter’s life is one full of danger and where one wrong move can result in the hunter’s death. Despite the fact that he’s been a hunter for the majority of his life, it’s still a surprise to him that Death is finally here for him. It doesn’t matter that he’s cheated death once and he knows that he has a debt to pay. He still fights and hangs onto his life until the very end. And even when he’s accepted that it’s time for him to leave behind his mortal existence, Dean Winchester still tries to deny inevitability. He can’t really help himself since he’s been raised to be a hunter. But in the end, he lets go of his life.
