Buffy’s groaning woke up Faith instantly and she sat up. She quickly looked around the room and didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary. Once her scan of the room was done, she turned and looked at the other Slayer to make sure that she was okay. When Buffy groaned in her sleep again, Faith didn’t hesitate and she woke up her lover. She gently shook Buffy to consciousness. Once Buffy opened her eyes, Faith asked her if she was okay, worried that the First had somehow found away to attack Buffy in her sleep.
“I was fine until you woke me up,” Buffy responded tiredly.
“You were just groaning in your sleep, I was worried that it was the First,” Faith explained.
“I am not fragile, you know.” Buffy said as she sat up.
“I think otherwise,” Faith said as she looked pointedly at Buffy’s stomach.
“Being pregnant does not make me weak or fragile.”
”Yeah it does, you’re not just a Slayer anymore, but a pregnant Slayer which makes you a target for every demon.”
”You know Nikki did just fine when she was pregnant with Robin,” Buffy said with a pout.
”Yeah but baby, she wasn’t a Slayer yet. And she also didn’t have to worry about the mother of all evils being after her, now did she?” Faith asked as she pulled Buffy close to her.
“No, she didn’t,” Buffy admitted as she allowed her girlfriend to pull her into a kiss.
“I can hear you two smacking, and some of us are trying to get some sleep!” Spike grumbled from his cot in the basement.
“Shut up, Spike!” Both Slayers called out.
