fanfic100 for prompt #32 (sunset). Set during BTVS Season Five/ATS Season Two.
The hardest part about prison was the fact that she had to fight against her true nature. When other inmates tried to take a piece of her, she had to hold back in case she accidentally killed them. And when the sun set, she couldn’t allow herself to fall into the mode of a hunter. She could only pace the small confines of her cell, similar to a caged panther that could only pace the confines of its cage. It didn’t matter that her senses were heightened more when dusk fell nor did it matter that she was supposed to be out there saving people from the monsters. Nor did her guilt over being confined because of her actions through jealousy and insecurity. It was a part of her path to redemption to be powerless when the day turned into night.
