Notes: Written for au100  for prompt #21 (friends). Set in the Wishverse.

 

            She could see why the Master had feared the arrival of the Slayer. It was obvious that the blonde might had had a fluffy name but she was all hunter. Willow actually felt fear as she stared into the flat blue eyes of the Slayer. This was death stalking her just as surely as she had stalked any of her own victims. As the Slayer drove the wooden stake through Willow’s chest, the vampire suddenly had a vision of the two of them. Instead of being enemies, they were friends. The Slayer’s eyes were lively and bright and her human self wasn’t weak and pathetic like she had once been. Willow’s eyes teared up at the vision and for some reason she felt sorry for the twist of fate that had lead them to being enemies rather than friends. She didn’t have a chance to say anything as Buffy turned away from her, safe in the knowledge that the stake was killing her.
