I'm trying to clear up all of the drabble requests from the beginning of this year. This is one of them, goddess_loki gave me several CSI/CSI: Miami and Buffyverse ideas that were mix and match and this is what I came up with. Once again, thanks for all of the challenges that you've given me, they've been a great help!
Title: Smile For the Camera 1/1
Author: Sweetness (aaronlisa@gmail.com)
Pairing: Calleigh/Ryan
Rating: PG-13
Disclaimer: CSI: Miami and its characters belong to Jerry Bruckheimer and company.
Notes: Written for goddess_loki who suggested this pairing and the theme of a case going wrong. She also wanted to see Horatio in a fic. This is set during the second half of Season Three.
“This is unacceptable, Calleigh,” Horatio gently scolded.
“I know but I can’t give you a better answer.”
“Any suggestions?”
“We need someone to deal with the media, so Eric and I can focus on the evidence,” Calleigh said as she looked up at him.
“What about Wolfe?”
”Ryan? He’s still so new and this is a high profile case.”
”One that’s about to go wrong if we don’t get rid of the media pressure.”
“What do you want him to say?”
”The usual, that we’re working hard on the case and that we’re close to naming a suspect.”
”But we’re not,” Calleigh said.
“I know that, but a senator’s been murdered and we need to keep control of this case.”
”Well if worse comes to worse, I’ll tell him to say ‘no comment’ and to be firm.”
”You do that,” Horatio replied as he put on his sunglasses.

“Ryan are you ready to smile for the camera?” Calleigh asked as she entered the lab.
“What?” Ryan asked in confusion.
”Horatio’s decided to hold a press conference but since Eric and I are crucial to processing the evidence, he’s decided that you should answer the questions.”
“Me?”
”Yes,” Calleigh said as her eyes grew soft and she touched his hand, “It won’t be easy but I’ll coach you through what to say.”
”Alright, but I am not sure if I’m the right person for this.”
”Of course you are, Horatio and I have complete confidence and faith in you,” Calleigh said as she smiled before she started the hard work of preparing him for the press.
