            He had gone to Las Vegas to help Buffy and her new council, only to find that he was too late to help anyone. It cut him to the bone as he watched the criminalists do their work while he was forced to watch in the shadows. He knew what the older female criminalist was looking at when she called over the younger woman and he heard pieces of their conversation. Part of him wanted to go to them and tell them the whole story. To let them know that the sixteen-year old girl hadn’t just fallen into the wrong crowd. Instead she had been called into a destiny that forced her to fight the monsters that lurked in the shadows, just like he did. He still had a case to work for the new Council and he would have to find her killer on his own because he knew that the he could never tell the two women working their own case the truth. It would kill them and the monster that had killed the Slayer already had killed enough innocents, Angel refused to add to that total. As he pulled the cell phone out of his pocket, he moved into the Las Vegas night.
“Buffy, it’s me. No it’s too late for her. The Las Vegas Crime Lab is already dealing with that situation.”
