“And to what do I owe for your visit?” Faith asked as she stared at her visitor in surprise.
“I just wanted to make sure that you were still where you belonged,” Buffy replied icily.
“Well I’m still here serving my sentence.”
”I can see that.”
”So why did you really come, B?”
“I told you why I came.”
”If you’d wanted to know if I was still here rotting away, you could have asked Angel. So let’s have it, why are you really here?”
”Why are you still healthy?”
”What?” Faith asked in confusion.
”Why do you get to be in good health after all you’ve done and my mother gets to die?”
”Joyce is dead?” Faith quietly asked.
“Don’t you say her name. You don’t get to say her name.”
“Look B, I don’t know what to say. I’m not saying that I deserve to be in good health or even alive after all that I’ve done but I don’t have any answers for you,” Faith calmly said as she stood up.
            Buffy watched as the brunette hung up the phone and walked away from her. She was powerless to prevent the tears that rolled down her cheeks. It seemed cruel that someone like Faith was still around when her mother was gone. For the first time in her life, she wished that Buffy’s magic could fix the injustice of the situation.
