            Ever since she had been called as a Slayer, Faith had noticed that the bruises on her skin never seemed to last as long as they once had. They barely had time to turn purple before they would fade because of her Slayer healing. It didn’t matter if the bruise was from a vampire or a demon that she had fought, or from her own clumsiness, or even from her stepfather’s fists. In the end, the bruise would quickly heal and fade leaving her skin unmarked and flawless. But Faith soon learned that no matter how quickly the bruised faded from her skin, it remained hidden under her skin where it would continue to painfully fester.
