As she stared at the crater that had been Sunnydale a few minutes ago, Faith slowly processed how much her life had changed in five short years. She was no longer the scared girl who had just found out that she was a Slayer and was on the run from an ancient vampire. She was no longer the lonely girl was overcompensating for everything that had ever gone wrong in her life. And she was no longer the violent girl who thought that violence and sex would ease the pain, loneliness and bitterness that she felt. Now she could look at Buffy and not feel resentment for the blonde Slayer having had the picture perfect life that Faith had dreamt of possessing for so long. Instead she saw a young woman who had given up almost everything in order to fulfill a destiny that had been forced on her. And Faith realized that now more than ever, her and Buffy were more alike than different. They had both given up so much to fulfill an unwanted destiny and in order to survive they had both had to grab that destiny with both hands. And by doing so, they had both saved the world together. A lot of the saving had been on Buffy’s part, and Faith knew that even if the other Slayer never admitted it or said it to her, Buffy would never have been able to do it without her. Faith smiled as she listen to Buffy’s friends ask her what was next.
