It was hard for Faith to not let the resentment build, especially when she was actively patrolling the Hellmouth in Cleveland without any support from the new Council made up of Buffy and her friends. The others had run off to exotic locales in order to rebuild the Council and find the newly activated Slayers. Faith was sent to Cleveland to prove herself to Buffy and the others, to prove that she was on their side for real and dedicated to the cause. She was sent to Cleveland to do their dirty work and protect the innocent. Every day that she got up was another day where she had to fight the urge to just get up and to leave. She had to wonder what would have been different if she hadn’t gone bad and if she had toed the line and had followed Buffy and the Council’s order when she had first arrived in Sunnydale. Faith knew that the reason that she had been abandoned in Cleveland without any support was so that Buffy and the others could forget about her because they couldn’t trust her.
