Notes: Written for goddess_loki  who wanted this pairing and the colour brown. Set during the second half of Season Five.

 

            Catherine Willows looked at the box of chocolates once again and sighed. The simple brown velvet box with its gold ribbon kept distracting her from the reports that Ecklie had demanded. And it was those reports that caused her mixed emotions about the candy that Warrick had left her. Half of her was excited about the chocolates because it meant that their flirtation had moved to the next level. But the other half of her realized that they were on dangerous ground. She wouldn’t put it past Ecklie to ruin the shifts yet again because of a relationship between a supervisor and an employee. And she knew that Ecklie was waiting for her to slip up. She sighed as she ran her finger along the gold ribbon. If only things had happened differently, but there was no point in wishing for things to be different. Instead she’d return the chocolates as soon as she finished the reports.
