Greg excitedly burst into her clean lab, causing Mia to sigh in frustration. She briefly wondered how Greg had managed to get anything done since all the CSI’s seemed to think that it was okay for them to burst into the lab at anytime, no matter how much work or how complicated the work was.
“Can I help you, Greg?” Mia asked in a curt voice, hoping to dissuade the former lab tech from doing anything not related to work.
“I think that you can,” Greg replied with an infectious smile.
“Well what is it?”
“I just happen to have two tickets for a conference with the imminent Dr. Robert Walker,” Greg said as he waved the two tickets at her.
“And?” Mia said as she refused to show any excitement, despite wanting to attend the conference.
“I was wondering if you’d like to attend it with me,” Greg asked as his enthusiasm waned.
“Of course, I’ll attend it with you,” Mia said with a ghost of a smile curving on her lips.
“Great!”
”Now I should be getting back to my work,” Mia replied as she arched an eyebrow at him.
“Oh, right. I’ll see you at the end of the shift.”
Mia watched as he walked out of the lab and she felt a surge of affection for him. The others might truly disrupt her when she was working, but Greg was different. When he came into the lab, he never seemed to disturb the pristine cleanliness of it. And although she didn’t think that anything would come out of it, she did enjoy his company.
