Notes: Written for goddess_loki  who wanted this pairing and the colour maroon. Set at the end of Season Five.

 

            Perhaps it was the fact that it could have been any of them who had been in danger. Perhaps it was the fact that he could have died in the explosion. Perhaps it was the fact that he was lonely. But in realty, if he was honest with himself, he had really come back because he had missed her. He had found something with her that he had been unable to find with anyone else, not that he had been looking for it. Grissom had chemistry with Lady Heather and he had turned away from it once before because of their different lives. Now he wasn’t going to, so he knocked on her door and waited patiently for her to answer it. He didn’t have long to wait and he smiled as he drank in the site of her in her tasteful black clothes and her maroon coloured lips.
”I was wondering when you would finally come back.”
”I had some misconceptions to work through.”
”I’m glad that you finally did so, come in Gil.”
