            As he drove home, Greg thought that he had just worked on the most interesting case, albeit frightening one, since becoming a full-fledged CSI. It didn’t help that his attraction for Sara was slowly growing. He knew that she hadn’t really looked at him like she claimed too when they had been sterilized for any hazardous materials. He had seen the terror in her eyes that had undoubtedly mirrored the terror in his eyes. There was no way that she could have looked at him more than briefly, and even then only for reassurance.
            He had to wonder where her sudden interest in him had come from. Not that she had ever been outright rude to him when he had just been a lab tech. But before he had become a CSI, she had been cold and distant towards him. Always just asking him for the results. Not that Sara was what people would define as a warm and open person, but she had certainly warmed to him when he had joined the team. He was positive that some of it originally came from her dislike of Sofia and some of it from the fact that the team had been split up. But it seemed that the more they worked together, the warmer she became.
            It wasn’t as if he didn’t know about her feelings for Grissom. After all, he had observed her long enough when he had just been a lab rat. He had seen the way that she acted around Grissom and the looks that she had given the older man when she thought no one was looking. But despite this knowledge, he couldn’t help the way he felt about her. Sometimes, he wished that he had stayed in the lab instead of becoming a CSI, as it had been much easier for him to prevent those feelings for her from growing.
