When she had heard the news that Buffy had been resurrected from the dead, Cordelia wasn’t quite sure what she should feel. Part of her had been relieved while part of her had been sad. She couldn’t even begin to imagine how the blonde Slayer felt about the whole situation. However, Cordelia knew how she felt as she watched Buffy kiss Angel. Instead of feeling the anger that she had felt when she had caught Willow and Xander in a similar position, the brunette could only feel a mind-numbing sense of rejection. It seemed that every time she fell in love with someone, she would always rate as second best. There would always be someone else who would be better than her and more loved than she was. Cordelia turned away from the painful tableau in front of her with tears in her eyes. Maybe one day she would be deemed first in the heart of someone who she loved, or at least she hoped and prayed that she would.
