Nick had decided to check out the new girl that had moved in with Mrs. Howard. He didn’t really care that Faye and Diana were currently arguing over her nor did he care that she was half outsider. He felt that someone should warn her, after all it seemed that half of the coven didn’t want anything to do with her, and he knew that nobody else would want anything to do with her when they found out where she lived. In short, she was doomed for a lonely existence in New Salem and he felt that someone should warn her. Yet every time he saw her, he didn’t know what to say to her, especially when he saw a look of wistful longing written on her face. Nick didn’t want to be the one who got to crush her with the truth about her new life, so he ended up avoiding her. By the time school had started, he had decided to let her find out things on her own, that way he wouldn’t have to be the one who ruined everything for her by telling her she would never belong to either side.

“But Nick, don’t you want to go out with me?” Faye purred as she ran a scarlet fingernail along his bare arm.
“Not really,” Nick said coldly as he removed her hand from his arm.
“We can have a really great time.”
”I’m not some gullible outsider that you can manipulate.”
”Look Nick,” Faye angrily started with her golden eyes flashing before he interrupted her.
“The answer is going to remain the same no matter what you do.”
”You’re going to regret this.”
”I doubt it,” Nick replied before walking away from her.
