Cleveland had turned out to be extremely boring for Faith. It wasn’t the city’s fault, instead Buffy had put her in charge of a group of new Slayers and administration wasn’t something that Faith had been made for. However, being in charge of the Slayers was something that Buffy had trusted her with and since she wanted to prove she was worthy of that trust, Faith forced herself to do the things that she found dull. There was always some new demon to research, or paranormal activity to investigate, or calls to be made to England that took up so much of her time. Being a Watcher definitely wasn’t something that she was made for but it was what she was now with the birth of the New Watchers’ Council founded by Buffy.
At least that had been the case until Connor had arrived unexpectedly in Cleveland. There was something about Angel’s mysterious son that Faith could never quite place; it was as if her memories were hazy and unclear when it came to him. Yet she was grateful for his arrival, as it had shaken her out of her tired compliancy. She still handled the administrative side of things, but Connor would often search her out and drag her out for an intense patrol, something that she hadn’t realized how much she had desperately needed. He would always come to her office and he would lean against the doorframe with a smirk on his face that could rival one of Angelus’s smirks. He’d laugh at her as she tried to put him off with how busy she was, and then he’d tell her that all work and no play made for a very dull Slayer before he’d grab hold of her hand and drag her out.
